External HDD_BSOD_BCCode 50_Page Fault

Hello,

1. Plugging an external HDD to my laptop running Windows 7 Enterprise results in a BSOD.
2. BSOD Error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
3. The tool 'BlueScreenView' reports it to caused by the driver 'ntkrnlpa.exe'.

Have you tried plugging the external drive to another system? Does it still BSOD?
How old is the drive?

Reduce items at start up:

Performing a Clean Startup in Windows 7

Add, or Remove Startup Programs in Windows 7
