F.E.A.R No Sound Windows 7

There has to be a simple explanation here we're missing, I haven't seen anyone else complaining of this problem.

I'm not too sure about that, after searching Google for three nights in a row I've seen a lot of threads with a lot of solutions, just none of which that work for me unfortunately.

Have you tried disabling EAX in the game settings and restarting the game?

F.E.A.R No Sound Windows 7 (Fix)

Install the windows media feature pack: Windows Media Feature Pack for Windows 7 N- and KN with Service Pack 1

"Microsoft has released an updated version of the Windows Media Feature Pack for N- and KN-Editions of Windows 7 Starter, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise with Service Pack 1. The Windows Media Feature Pack for Windows 7 N with Service Pack 1 and Windows 7 KN with Service Pack 1 (KB968211) is now available for download from the Microsoft Download Center. The Media Feature Pack for Windows 7 N or Windows 7 KN will install Media Player and related technologies on a computer running Windows 7 N or Windows 7 KN editions, or these editions with Service Pack 1."

Or google for "Windows6.1-KB968211-x64-RefreshPkg.msu" for x64 systems or "Windows6.1-KB968211-x86-RefreshPkg.msu" for x86 systems

This worked for me on all the games that give errors about missing dll's or crashing soon after start etc.
