I am planning to do a factory restore on my computer (Windows 7 Home Premium 64) since its been acting really slow with errors/spyware I cant get rid of. I was wondering the steps I would take towards doing this, and I have a quick question.

I have a separate hard drive (Audio (G: ) which I use to record music, Im also using it to hold all the files that I want to transfer once I restore my computer. My question is when I factory restore my computer is it going to wipe my (G: ) drive as well? I just wanted to make sure since I have priceless data recorded on that drive.

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Well, the easy answer is that it shouldn't, but if you want to be absolutely sure it isn't affected you can always physically disconnect the drive first, and then reconnect it afterwards.

It should also be backed up to an external drive as further insurance.

You say you want to do a factory restore. Have you considered a clean install to get rid of all the garbage these manufacturer's load on your computer?

Check this tutorial, which explains how.

Wow a clean install sounds a lot better I will definitely read this tutorial, and thank you very much for the quick response. I think I will disconnect the hard drive and re connect it as you said, that way I can be completely sure. I really appreciate the help!

Make sure to back up your data. You may also want to make an Easy Transfer backup file:How to use Windows Easy Transfer to migrate files and settings from one Windows-based computer to another Windows Vista-based computer
