failed to load branding configuration

after reboot I get "branding" error! I just click and its gone--comes back 1-2 a day!

why?

how do I get rid of it?????
please help----I am old and not-too-bright)

Sync.exe - Microsoft Community

The quote below is from the MS website referred to above. It does help explain what the OP has on his computer.

"sync.exe is a process belonging to the AdShooter.SearchForIt advertising program by Search For It Inc. This process monitors your browsing habits and distributes the data back to the author's servers for analysis. This also prompts advertising popups. This process is a security risk and should be removed from your system.
