I can't promise you that this will work for others having this problem. I attempted to install these updates one at a time and then review the CBS.log file in C:\Windows \Logs\CBS to try and find what was failing. In the area of the errors I saw another update mentioned.
One update was KB2922229 and the other was KB2984976. I believe the updates KB3071756 and KB3060716 replaced the others from an earlier time including last month. I uninstalled both KB2922229 and KB2984976, rebooted and checked for updates again. It said the same two updates were available, KB3071756 and KB3060716. I went ahead with the installation and they installed successfully.
Your situation may be caused by different problems. If you are not comfortable reviewing logs or uninstalling previous updates, do not do this. If you see the same information I saw, then it just may work for you also.
I realize there is a lot of KB noise in my writeup above. So bottom line as follows:
Uninstall/remove both KB2922229 and KB2984976, reboot and then check for updates. Install the 2 udpates from this month and if you have the same problem as I did, they will successfully install.
I just registered for this forum, just to post this answer.
I found this in the Microsoft forum.
Helped me, so I hope it helps you too.
