Fairly new hard drive keeps disappearing...

Last month, I built my first DIY rig (yay :D) and it's been running as smooth as butter, up until a week ago. I originally only had the HDD, using it for the OS and storage. Two weeks ago I added in an SSD, using it as my OS drive and putting all my games and media files on the HDD.

Last week, I noticed that my media drive dropped out of windows. Checked My Computer, not there. Neither in the Device Manager. So I reboot into the BIOS, and it's there, so I load windows and it happened again after a few hours.

This has been happening on and off and very randomly since. I've already configured my power settings to turn off drive idle, replaced the SATA cable, switched SATA ports, tried the old cable in another port, re-seating the power cable, using a different power cable (modular PSU), all does nothing. It continues to randomly happen. Even as I type, the drive is non-existent to my OS.

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. Apologies for the long thread, just wanted you guys to know what I've already done. Again, TY. :P

the power connection to the drive is probably weak or bad

use a different power cable, and make sure you can hear it spin..

Check the data cable while you at it as well, but I believe its the power cable.

Like i stated in the original post, power cable was re-seated and swapped, and problem still persists.
