Solved Firefox not displaying images or videos consistenly

I get a link to view something and nothing comes up. I click on a video and there is no video. This is not an always thing. Most of the time FF works correctly but the number of times it doesn't work is very frustrating.

If I delete all traces of FF and reinstall it, I don't get this problem. It usually happens over time. I only have a few extensions and "required" add-ons -- Microsoft, NVidia, etc.

For this reason, I keep Chrome and Opera around to get to the problem sites. I'd switch to Opera but it doesn't like my mouse. I'm leary of Chrome after discovering a task in my Task Scheduler that sends data to Google every hour every day. And, yes, I deleted those tasks.

Any ideas are appreciated.

You could also trying rebooting your computer and see if the problem is still their with that link.

It works fine for me. You do know that in Firefox now you have to enable flash and Java by using what they call click to play.

Works fine for me also using Firefox 20.0.1.

If you want to disable this feature turn the above pref to false but I would not advise it. They are located in About:Config

If I turn on click_to_play I get the "click here to activate Adobe Flash plugin," which is worse then the original problem so I switched it back to false. It also made no difference to the original problem.

The problem was simple: cookies. I turned cookies on and the video came up. I usually keep cookies off via Cookie Monster.

In Firefox go to Tools/Add Ons/Plug In and see if you have Flash.
