I'm running Firefox 20.0.1 (release channel) and it is 32 bit as reported in task manager, however when I go to whatismybrowser.com it reports Firefox 64. If I go into about:config and search on useragent I see an entry for "general.useragent.override which says "Mozilla/5.0 (Gecko) Firefox/64". I've tried resetting the string and that didn't help. Should I delete it or change the data (what would I change it too)? TIA

unknown <-curent UA string analysis :: user-agent-string.info

Go to above site and see what it shows. It may just be saying you are on a 64 Bit system.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:21.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/21.0

above is what it shows for me and I am using the 32Bit Version of Fx21B5

The page you linked identifies my browser as Firefox 64, which it isn't. Google can't identify the browser at all which causes error messages on Youtube and when I download flash the Adobe site misidentifies the system as Mac OS. I don't know what the problem is. I've looked through the extension and plugins and don't see anything out of the ordinary there. If I reset the string to default unknown <-curent UA string analysis :: user-agent-string.info reports Firefox 20.0 run on Windows 7.

Edit: When I go to the adobe site to download flash it properly identifies the OS and browser version after the useragent override string is reset, however when I restart Firefox the useragent reverts to Firefox 64....?

"general.useragent.override"

I suspect an add-on is forcing (overriding) the Firefox default setting. To test, create a new Firefox profile with little or no add-ons.

Finally found it! I use an addon called Calomel SSL Validation and one of it's options is to anonymize the user agent. I disabled that option and now sites are identifying the browser correctly :geek:

Edit: I confirmed that the option to anonymize the user agent is On by default. I may contact the vender as I think this is a poor choice for an otherwise very useful extention.
