I went to view a Real movie, and got a message saying

"Windows Firewall has blocked features on all private and public networks."

I did not want to grant access, so pressed Cancel. Then I went to the firewall setting, and in fact explorer had been granted access to Public Networks.

What gives?

The firewall did you a huge favor by disallowing Real stuff lol.

Anyway, it probably blocked a Real Player or similar and not Internet Explorer, itself.

I totally agree. I am using Real Alternative Lite instead of Real

I am having trouble understanding the Fire Wall Settings window. It's possible that nothing was let through. "Internet Explorer" is listed without a check mark to the left of it, but there is a checkmark all the way to the left under the Public Networks column.
