Earlier today I went to the Libraries and clicked on my documents. Instead of opening in the same window, it opened in a new window and continued to do this for every folder I clicked. In both the control panel and the Ultimate Windows Tweaker I have it set to open in the same window, but it doesn't. I tried changing the setting to open in a new window every time and then reverting it back, with no luck. Rebooting also did nothing.

Folder Settings Tutorial

I would try the Registry Edit method. Anytime you mess with the registry it's a good idea to make a Restore Point and/or back up with ERUNT first.

Edit: Also I have a free Hotkey utility. You can leave Explorer set to open folders in the same window. But if Half Shell is running, Shift-Enter opens selected folders in new windows.

It's free for you to use at your own risk. You can get it here:

I have tried the registry fix. The 5th value was already set as "0A" and even though I erased it and rewrote it, folders still open in separate windows.

Something obvious, but needs checked.

Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Folder options, and on the general tab at the top, make sure "Open each folder in the same window is selected".

Then on the View tab "Launch folder windows in a separate process" is not checked.

If any changes are made, Then, Apply, and okay your way out.

You could even try restoring the defaults for these two tabs, again Apply, and okay your way out.
