I have a folder on my desktop that I created about a month ago. Nothing is really in it, just some video files. Im trying to delete the sub folders within it, and it gives me the message that 'The Folder Not Accessible' It says that I have to have Admin permission to delete the contents. Im the only user on my lap top though. What I have tried so far.

I have manually attempted to take ownership of the files through cmd prmpt, it tells me Access Denied.

I downloaded the Take Ownership program and tried it that way, no luck

Any ideas on what I can do, any why its locking me out?

I have skimmed through the forums and seen a few other "solved" threads with the same problem, however the solution is not working for me.

Hello Redithrum, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Is your user account an administrator type, and not a standard user account?

If you are an administrator, then you might see if using the free program Unlocker may be able to delete it.

Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

Hey Brink, I finally figured it out. I booted it in safe mode and took ownership from there, for whatever reason it worked fine, come to find out there was nothing in any of the folders, it just wouldnt let me delete the folders. Im thinking it had something to do with transfering the data to a portable harddrive, maybe some of the files had administrative locks on them or something, and it just messed up windows face when I moved them. Anyways, thanks a ton :P
