Solved Folder stay marked?

Hello,
first of all...sorry for my bad english.
My problem with new installed Windows 7 Ultimate:

When opening a Folder on Desktop and leave it again,
the Folder stay marked!
So i always have to click on Desktop,to unmark the Folder again.
Never had this before.
Is there maybe a secret .reg , to fix it?

Hello llorc, and welcome to Seven Forums.

When you say marked, do you mean marked as read-only?

If so, compare how the Read-only check box looks in the note box of the tutorial below to the folder to see if it may actually not be read-only. It will only be read-only if the box is checked.

I was to quick,
its back again as it was before! crazy!!!

This would be the selection rectangle indicating the folder is currently selected.

It should go away if you click on a blank area on your desktop since that would deslect it.

A "glitch" is basically a temporary bug or issue that usually works itself out.

That was the normal behavior since at least Windows 95.
The selection remains on the desktop after opening and is only cleared if you select something else or click the background to unselect. This is also how every program in Windows behaves, unless explicitly overriden, there is no setting about this.

Other than changing the visual appearance of the selection rectangle, this is how it works. For example, normal theme (non aero) has less visual clues on the selected item. But this is not exactly what you asked for.

You could use an option in the tutorial below to have a translucent selection rectangle.

Yeah, highlighted items will still remain blue like that.

It's only the selection rectangle itself that is changed.

Hello!
Found out what really happended to
the marked Folders!:
It seems,that a Prog. called " X-Mouse Button Control"
was responsible for marking Folders.
I deactivated it....and voila.... everything works, as it should ! :sarc:

Good to hear you fixed it. You're right, this is not usual. Normally the icon stays selected, but in a less flashy manner. I have checkboxes enabled, so afterwards I only have a checked checkbox next to the icon (until I click on an empty area of the desktop).

I don't know what it's supposed to look like without checkboxes, but I remember that older versions of Windows had a dotted line around the filename, like "My Documents" in this screenshot I found:
