If you used Partition Wizard 7 in the past, you might recall the free version didn't have some functionality (for example merging partitions), and it now looks like they put that, plus some other goodies, back into the FREE Partition Wizard 7.5.

Partition Wizard Bootable CD allows user to manage partition directly with partition manager bootable CD.

There is a free Windows version of Partition Wizard as well. Useful if you are not modifying the system drive. http://www.partitionwizard.com/. I can confirm it is almost fully functional.

Free Partition Magic alternative, partition manager freeware, partition magic server, partition magic Windows 7 and free Partition Manager software for Windows 7/8/VISTA/XP/2000 and Windows Server 2003/2008/2000.. I can confirm it is almost fully functional.

Isn't this the same free software as in the previous post?
Do you know if they included dynamic to basic conversion in the v7.5 free version? I don't recall seeing it mentioned.

The previous post was talking about the stand alone bootable version. This is an installable windows version. The features of both are the same.

Ever want to size and/or position a window on your desktop exactly the same as another window without having to size with the mouse by eye? I have. That's why I wrote WinDim. It's a hotkey that sits in the tray. Winkey +g Gets the dimensions of the active window. Winkey +s Sets the size/position or both of the active window. If the target does not have a resizeable border(cannot be resized) it lets you know, but still allows you to position the window or just copy the dimensions to the clipboard.

It even has a special mode for SSDs, if you insist on defragging your solid-states - not that we'd recommend doing this.

One of JKDefrag's best features was its ability to run as a screensaver. You could actualyl see it doing its business, bit-by-bit, which makes for fascinatingly ugly viewing. In fact, it prompted my ex to say "I THINK YOUR COMPUTER'S BROKEN".

But it is immensely satisfying to see everything fit into place properly. At 54 minutes long, MyDefrag was also the fastest in our roundup, and it certainly defragged our hard drive properly.

It's not particularly the most aesthetically pleasing of defragmentation software, but it does the job perfectly, and has a whole host of extra settings.

Jim just to add to what Brink said you will find you will get even better results (I do at least) to run MyDefrag and then do the Windows one as someone else advised me that the system likes the way that Windows sets up the file system as per install.

I find the MD does the initial defrag real quick and knocks at least half the time off the Windows defrag.

NB If you have an SSD - no defrag mate!!
