Fresh install of Windows 7 - Very little space left on C:\

I have a SSD with around 59.5 GB (according to Windows). I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro 64-bit (with Service Pack 1 in it as well) and installed all the basic MB drivers as well as video drivers. Right now I am in the process of downloading/installing windows updates (around 650 MB.) The computer now says I only have 6 GB left..... According to Windows, Windows 7 64 is 20 GB (an extra 1050 MB for Service Pack 1), and even with all these drivers and updates, I should have at least 20-30 GB left. Does anyone know why this install seems to use the whole drive? I do remember that as soon as I got to the desktop before any drivers and such I had 11.2 GB. Is this because it's a SSD? Thanks in advanced!

if you run a fresh install of windows on top of another windows install without formatting the drive, all your old files and installs will be placed in a folder on the new install. its normally located under C: in a folder called "Windows Old"

I did reformat the drive, and it only made one 100MB partition, so I still had 59 GB to use. I did remember that in order for me to install I had to unplug all other hard drives, otherwise it gave me an error saying "Windows cannot be installed onto this disk... and it may not be supported", or something like that.
