Currently working on a Dell Latitude E6500 laptop with a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro 64 and both the left and right trackpad buttons right-click.
I've checked the mouse settings in device manager as well as uninstalled and re-installed the driver.
I tried a second fresh installation of Win7 on a different HDD, same result.
The driver that Windows installed automatically wasn't the Dell trackpad driver, so I tried uninstalling the stock driver and installing the Dell trackpad driver. When I do this neither trackpad button works at all regardless of the settings.
Was hoping someone might have an idea or suggestion as to what I should try next? Thanks in advance, I appreciate your time.
Edit:
I had it taken apart a couple days ago and didn't notice anything odd or remarkable with the connections or cable.
The trackstick buttons (three above the touchpad) seem to function correctly regardless of which driver is installed.
Changing the settings to reverse right and left button function does change the behaviour of the right button to act as a left click.
