I installed Widows 7 Professional on a brand new Samsung 840 SSD drive. I left 23.2 GB unallocated according to Samsung's instructions.
The installation worked fine for about 3 weeks until a "Not Genuine..." notification appeared
, and I was offered a special deal to buy a Genuine copy.
The the installation copy I used has all the proper COA and hologram on disc.
I had previously done a similar Windows 7 installation to my own computer with a Samsung SSD PRO and of course a different Windows 7 disk, purchased from the same vendor.
I don't remember for sure (I'm in my 70s
), but I think I may have updated the CMOS, because the Samsung Magician utility for the SSD reported that the SATA speed available was not optimum.
