so can someone explain this in terms someone on muscle relaxers can understand? I was able to see the 3 vid which I think means that this should work with my hardware.

To put things short...Microsoft and NVIDIA (as well as ATI) are working on making the GPU also do calculations that normally are thrown to the CPU...

This means that games and other apps should run alot smoother based on this technology because the GPU can compute some things faster than the CPU. GPUs have lots of untapped power...why not put it to work for other things besides games...enter DirectCompute

What do you mean ATI is doing a method for themselves?? Both NVIDIA and ATI will support (ATI already does) DirectX11, and as DirectCompute is part of DirectX11 it should be supported in the same way in applications.

I meant that ATI isn't working as a partner with Microsoft like NVIDIA...
