Graphic Card confusion

Hello, guys. I'm gonna explain my issue as simple as I can. I bought my PC like 3,5 years ago. So, im not that big expert in hardware and software. On paper of my list configuration under graphic card there stands VGA PCIe Gigabyte GV-NX73G128D-RH
that's actually Gigabyte 7300gs card. Ok. Now when I got PC I got CD with Ati Catalyst drivers for ATI Radeon x1600/1650 pro. My graphic card looks like this.

I don't understand why does it says in every program like Everest and others that my graphic card is Ati Radeon x1600, when it doesn't look like x1600. So, now I wonder if my card is actually Ati or Nvidia, cuz 7300gs is Gigabyte GeForce.

I know it's confusing. But tbh I'm not sure if I use Ati Radeon or GeForce, my card looks like GeForce 7300gs, but everything else shows that my card is Ati Radeon x1600, even if it doesn't look like that one.

Type Device Manager in the start menu and see what it says in device manager > Display adapters

Unless it's running off the generic VGA drivers, it will show you what card / drivers you are using.

Alternatively download GPU-Z

I checked on Device Manager and under Display adapters it stands Radeon X1600/x1650 series.

how the hell can it be radeon x1600 when it looks like nvidia 7300 O_O
please someone kill me. xD

Maybe I should uninstal those ATI Drivers im using now, and try to instal for Nvidia 7300?
But the weird thing is, how the hell I could play all those 3 years games with ATI Catalyst display drivers.

If you uninstall the GPU driver then reboot will not Windows 7 install the correct driver ?

No Win7 doesn't instal drivers for Graphic Cards, I have to do it manually.

What are the chances that the shop you bought the rig from just slammed the card in but never configured it with drivers? Have you checked in you Bios to see if it's even the default GPU and not set up for the on board GPU?

You could try SIW "System Information for Windows " freeware version > SIW and see what it says.

Oh, now it's says this number
GV-RX16P128P-RH ... now this is true card ID.
I see now why it says ATI Radeon x1600, because my card is initiated with ati radeon x1600 pro graphic processor. So, actually it's gigabyte radeon not gigabyte geforce.
But they look same, they are like twins, lol... That's why I was confused. =/

No Win7 doesn't instal drivers for Graphic Cards, I have to do it manually.

windows 7 does install the graphic drivers for graphic cards it may not be the up to date one as from the manufactures web site if you are unsure about the card un-install the driver in device manager then turn off pc take your card out re-sit it, and reboot pc
