Graphics card and PSU problem.

So i recently bought a computer online and installed an 8600gt into it. It has a 250w power supply, so i thought it was a little bit too low, but i left it anyways. After 2 weeks, the video card just stopped working. When i plug my monitor back into the motherboard, the on board graphics, the computer works, but when i plug the monitor in through the graphics card, it doesn't work. Its weird though because the fan on the graphics card is still going. Any ideas? If i upgrade my PSU will it fix this and my graphics card will work again?

Mixed opinion on the issue as some users have been able to use a 250w brand-name PSU to run similar versions of the card you have - note however that this would be dependent on the card-vendor and the PSU used.
Others have not had a good experience with a no-name PSU with more serious consequences.
As for your card, recommend that you remove the card and try it on another PC (possibly a friend's) to see whether it will still work - ideally the PSU for your card should be "Minimum 300 Watt power supply (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 18 Amp Amps)". If it still works, you could then upgrade to a better PSU.
