Hello,

I recently purchased a H70 however I find the fans rather loud. Anyone got a good replacement that keep the CPU just as cool but very quiet.

I don't need a new CPU Cooler I need new fans for my H70.

I currently use these fans in my case they are really quiet would they be good on a H70?

I mis-understood then. I'd say that's a good one. Definitely keep it under 1000rpms.

Having a silent but deadly (lol) fan is hard to master because if you had more blades, you add more noise but each blade has to work less and it has to spin less. There's a threshold where all of those factors come together and some manufacturers get it, some don't.

Scythe "Slipstream" fans are about as quiet as you can get. They come in several variations and RPM settings.

You can check out some Noctua fans. Some complain about price, but quality and noise isn't one of them. They are silent, and of high quality - Noctua.at - sound-optimised premium components "Designed in Austria"!

yea 2nd the Noctua fans.. but the Akasa FN059 Vipers are just as good and not as much as the Noctua's.. i have 2 on my H50 that cools my 920 D0 and are so quite you will have to check to make sure they are on

+1 on the Noctua's I've replaced all 120mm's with them and run push/pull Noc's on my H50 off a fan controller and I can't speak more highly of them and how quiet they operate. They are especially good at pushing through fins/resistance! The looks are the only minus so if you're all about that then consider if they look cool or not, I personally like they looks now that they've grown on me.

I kinda like the look of the Noctua’s…different!! But agree that they would stand out like a sore thumb in a colour coordinated set up. Did you notice a big improvement over the stock fans? Im looking for a new cooler due to the real estate (or lack of) around the CPU of the P8P67 Deluxe board I just picked up. And the Corsair hydro coolers would work just fine. But as the OP stated, I’ve read that they can be noisy!!

This is why I purchased the Noctua's first to push pull the H50 and quiet things down. They worked beyond my expectations and then all the other cheap case fans where the loudest fans, so they all got the upgrade. Now wide open it's now my 200mm and 230mm fans that are the loudest. Yes I'm sold on them but there are other good quiet fans but the Noctua's are really built and I figure there more like investments for the long haul !

How ironic. I just put mine on the bottle last night. I was getting ugly temps on air and someone convinced me to try it(never warmed upto the idea of liquids inside my expensive eletronics lol)But holy hell-what a differnce! I went with the H50 and sandwiched it as well. It's been on the doorstep of 4.0ghz all day and hasnt went passed 52c. I'm sold.

Right. It sure doesnt FEEL like a pair of fans pulling tho.I have a theory about the sandwich. Obviously the fans should be running equal RPM's (and in the same direction) but from an engineering standpoint they need to have the same blade pitch as well. IE: If the innermost fan has a greater pitch(higher pitch=greater force) trhan does the outermost fan, flow is restricted. Not by any great degree mind you, but trying to pass a radiator as well...?
Just a random thought.

+2 on the Noctuas. When I recently bought a Lian Li case I took the stock fans out and replaced the fronts with Noctua 140s, and the rears with 120s. They're quiet on high speed, but I run them all on the middle RPM and this box is super quiet. Along with the Noctua NH-D14 the CPU temps also went from 41C to 31C at idle. Under load after playing Dirt 2 for a couple of hours for example I use to see the high 50sC easily and now have not seen the 40s yet.

Personally I like the looks although black would be more fitting in the case.

Exactly right the Noc's are a true value when you consider the quality and how quietly they'll push air. But yes they have an acquired look. I like them as they are absolutely like no other. Wouldn't call they pretty but in my mind's eye I love them and will only use them. I wish I had opted for the 140mm round that mount to a 120mm holes but oh well I can live with all 120's.

I had some concern about the 140s when I read that some had difficulty installing them because of the adapters that Noctua uses for the installation since they're not square. They wrote that the install seemed flimsy. I chaulked it up to some not knowing what they were doing and that proved to be correct. I take most of the reviews at Newegg with a grain of salt.

I agree about the quality/value and I'll buy Noctua again.

I just upgraded my H70 with a pair of Scythe fans which are an improvment over the stock fans Corsair provides. I came across this link the other day here on Sevenforums for the Silverstone 120mm air penetrator fan looks impressive.
