Hang after login after typing

For a number of months, Windows 7 [Professional x64 w/SP1] has been hanging after I login, but only after I start typing somewhere.

I can open up applications, such as Chrome and Publisher, and they'll continue to work fine as long as I'm clicking and not typing somewhere. But, if I start typing in the address bar of Chrome, or in the Windows Run box (winkey+R), it'll hang, usually for 10-15 seconds.

If I let my system just sit there after logging on (30 seconds or so), and then start typing in a program, it won't hang.

The same thing happens on my gaming PC. They both have a similar set of applications installed.

I had Task Manager open while the hang was happening, but nothing out of the ordinary was happening.

Do any of you know how to fix this, or of a way I can get deeper inside of everything to narrow down what's causing this issue?

Definitely didn't work.

I thought that it may have been Synergy, so I uninstalled it, but that didn't help. I doubt a reinstall of Windows would do anything, since the same thing is happening on my fairly new gaming PC.

Since you have the same issue on your two PC's, it points to something you have installed, customized, or changed on each system.
It will take some detective work.

In start search, type msconfig, and hit enter. In the Services tab, check the Hide All Microsoft Services then un check everything except your AV and gadgets, reboot and test for the issue.

If it is gone, repeat the above and enable one service at a time, rebooting and testing each time until the issue returns. that will point out the service causing the problem.

You may also try a repair install onstead of a Clean install.

I disabled all non-Microsoft services. Same thing happens. I can press ANY button on my keyboard after login, and it'll hang for a little bit.

I'll try a repair install and see how it goes.

Actually, I'll do it in the morning. ZZZ time.

Did a repair installation. Instead of hanging, the characters that I'd be typing would appear slowly.
