Hi

further to my other post....

system contains:

Gigibyte GA-P43-ES3g motherboard

Intel quad core processor

8gb Ram in 4 x 2gb crucial/lexar memory sticks

Hitachi 1tb sata hard drive

Asus 1tb EAH4350 graphics card

windows 7 pro OEM 64bit

Foxcom case

All is new less than a week old

I set the BSOD file running and left the PC alone came back in 40 minutes to find mouse and keyboard frozen
and the gadget clock second hand not moving.

PC required an unplug and leave for 60 seconds before it would boot up.

I have tried another hard drive, dropping the memory to 4gb and disabling all power settings in the bios.

I've also set windows 7 to never go to sleep, never turn of hard drive

I've also cleared the MBR and re installed at least 6 times

Would appreciate all ideas (including a hammer)

thanks

Ian

Hello and Welcome !

Seems like the Dump Files are missing. Go to C:\Windows\Minidump\ and copy the files and upload it here.

Run a Hardware Diagnostic (Memory and Hard Drive) follow this link for instructions Hardware Diagnostic !! « Captain Debugger

Hope this helps,
Captain

update

Hi

thought I'd share this, as can be seen I've spent hours installing, fdisking etc trying to stop w7 64bit from hanging.

Having tried everythinng apart from the processor and motherboard I pursuaded my supplier to ship a new quad core processor and a genuine intel board.

Pc still locked up at various points.

Logged onto the intel motherboard site and received a response telling me to check my power supply and that I should have at least a 650w unit fitted.

Ebuyer to t he rescue 700w unit delivered over night. Fitted yesterday and I've had two days - YES to days and no crash , lockouts etc. Turns out my new case only had a 300w power supply in it.

Another lesson learnt

thanks for all the help

Ian
