Hi, Being new to this forum I have 1 question; why do most of my hard drives have errors? smart says they are ok but when useing a program like disk check it shows sector and electric errors? even my usb drive I do my backups on shows errors. no they dont throw codes or anything but most have something wrong.I have been building desktops for awhile and I thought all my drives were good. If im not getting an error code and all is well, is it really ok? thx for the advice

What are you using to check your disks? I have no idea what "electric errors" are supposed to be.

Please provide more specific details, i.e. error messages word-by-word. Other than the reported errors, are you having any other problem at all with any of your drives? i.e. unexpected failure to copy/move/read/save files, random crashes, etc.?

sorry about the delay, Im usuing seatools and the drive tools from hp. The hp tools said replace the drive, passed seatools short test but failed the long test. i have 4kb in bad sectors but no errors or messages.this is in a laptop but i have an external drive and an internal desktop drive all with bad sectors but they work. if i run chkdsk will they still cause a problem or do they get bypassed
