Hello all. I have been running the above SATA drive with NO - 0 problems for some time now. No changes to the system. Now it gives me "bootmanager problem _ hit cntrl +alt+del to reboot" I have tried the auto fix via the install disc _ no go> i have tried using the bootrec FIXMBR FIXBOOT AND REBUILDBCD commands no joy I have even tried the bootsect force command with no fix I really would like to fix this drive Any ideas on how to get it back would be great _ I was trying to figure out if there was some files that could be copied manually to the drive in order to get it to work _ I also tried the procedure outlined in this forums MBR _ restore windows & master boot record and while everything matched in the screens it still will NOT BOOT I appreciate any help given>>>> THANKS>>

That was one of the first things that I did. At first it didn't find my windows installation. I then tried other solutions and then retried the startup repair. It found it said it fixed it but in the end it is STILL BROKEN. This solution did NOT work. I am open to other solutions to save this drive.. THANKS for the reply

If you have an external drive you could boot into a live cd using linux (Ubuntu) and move all your data to the external drive then reformat the HDD. At least this would save all of your data if you were not able to restore the MBR.

Thanks for the suggestion and I can download an Ubuntu live cd to do this (I assume). I would however, prefer to figure out WHY this drive will not boot even when recognized and is the ONLY drive in the system. Thanks again ..
