How big depends on how much storage you need. If these are e-Bay prices, a 2TB WD Black is only $15 more at Newegg and I would trust Newegg much more than I would e-Bay for something like this.

Yes, if you want to keep two identical backups, which you should, you would need two. The backup drive should be at least as large as the drive it is backing up.

A docking station allows you to plug in a bare internal type HDD into it and connect it to the computer via either USB or e-SATA (the one you listed gives you a choice; choices are a good thing). I prefer using bare HDDs in a docking station (I have one built into my computer) because they take up less room in storage and the bare internal type drives are usually better quality than the ones used in external HDDs.

I'm not. They are actually more reliable than HDDs for long term storage.

Look here for an example of tape backups being sold. Price alone is a good reason only big businesses will use them. These are strictly for long term, static storage.

I like being amazed though.
I'd like to see some studies by say the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) of tape vs say RAID. I accept large organizations still use tape for long term storage.

Actually, I think that is probably one computer and the machines you see in the photo are just old tape storage units which probably can be replaced now with a handful of HDDs.

All you need for backups is a hard drive.

Just make another partition on your Seagate for now.

After you install the ssd you can use the Seagate for backups/images.

For the cabling, all you need is the same 2 SATA cables you would use on a standard hard drive. One for power that connects to the power supply and one for data that connects to the motherboard.

Brackets: some cases include hard drive mounts that can accommodate either 2.5 inch (SSD size) drives or the larger 3.5 inch standard hard drives. My case is such a case, so I did not need to buy a bracket/adapter. I just used 4 screws that directly connected the SSD to the drive tray.

Your case may not allow screwing a 2.5 inch SSD directly to the drive tray, but even in that case you can easily tape or Velcro the SSD into a standard 3.5 inch hard drive bay. SSDs weigh less than a pack of cigarettes and have no moving parts, so there's little risk of it rattling around if it's restrained in any reasonable way. I even ran mine just dangling off the cables for a few days when I was constantly in and out of the case fiddling with fans.

Received the Samsung SSD Drive

Finally received the Samsung SSD Drive. Am getting ready to order the WD Black
Desktop 3.5-inch Hard Drives WD1003FZEX 1 TB to reinstall Windows.

When purchasing 2 of the WD's, I will need a dock for backups, correct? Could someone please tell me which dock to purchase again?

I hope you are not going to put Windows on a WD Black when you now have an SSD.

You don't need a dock if you intend to have 3 internal drives: SSD for Windows; WD Black for data; WD Black for data backup.

If you intend to have an external drive, then yes, you'd probably use a dock.

None of them are what I'd call durable or heavy duty, so don't expect them to last 10 years.

Some connect by USB 2; some by USB 3, some by eSATA, some by a combination. You'd need one that matched whatever ports you happen to have on your case.

I use a Rosewill RX-DUS 100 that has USB 2 and eSATA ports.

Other brands include Thermaltake and Sabrent. Make sure you get one that will accept standard 3.5 inch hard drives.

You might consider getting Blues instead of Blacks. They are cheaper and don't have as long a warranty, but you aren't likely to notice the speed difference if you put Windows and apps on the SSD.
