What is the difference between SATAIII, SATAII, SATAI, SAS and PATA/IDE/EIDE? Thank you in advance for any info on this topic. I want to use this item on my laptops.

In most cases you are unable to change the HDD interface as the motherboard it supplied with one type & one type only as a rule. SATA3 is the most used at present & is probably found on nearly every reasonably recent computer. My 2013 desktop has SATA3 connections.
