Has anyone ventured into Vlite-ing Windows 7?

I was a huge fan of the XPlite application, but now that I've tried Windows 7, I wonder... Has anyone tried Vlite-ing Windows 7? if so, could you post a step-by-step guide please =)...?

The last vLite release is from 2008. I doubt that it is adjusted for Win7.

I doubt that as well, considering vLite doesn't even play nice with SP2 for Vista.

There is a user here who works with vlite and got it to work more or less, but he is in school and I dont now if he has the time. I will pm him the thread link

I would try vLite forum. Also for just about anything bootable in any OS try here:

Boot Land

I don't know if you ever messed with Linux but a cool thing was you could make a bootable floppy to boot Linux off the HD. IOW, if the boot manager on your HD got hosed, boot the floppy, and it pulled Linux up right off the HD.

Well, from Bootland I found instructions how to do something similar from windows using a USB key drive. Hit the setting to boot from USB with that key drive in, and you get the same boot menu as you get from your HD(for example if you have a boot manager with selections to boot Win7 and XP etc..) It's like the Linux one in that it only works on the PC from which you set it up. But it's a nice thing to have. The software is free. Just need a bootable key drive.
