Hd not showing up after a rebuild.

Hi there guys,I've just spent the last couple of hours stripping down my rig,for a clean but mainly to do something about the cable management.But since rebuilding it 2 problems have arisen.
problem 1 On start up I'm getting the message boot manager is missing .
I go through the steps CTL>ALT>DEL then DEL to enter bios and select the drive to boot from in advanced mode F7 (only one drive is there on the initial bios screen where the drag and drop option is)
Problem 2 once I've logged in it is only showing 2 of my 3 hard drives.
I'm using a z77 mobo 60g ssd boot,256g ssd and a 1tb mechanical.
When I go into Computer management the 2 of the 3 drives are visible there.Please help

Is this the rig in your 'System Specs'?
If the rest of the info is correct then what mobo do you have now?

Post a screen shot of Disk Management showing all the drives and the top information window.

I would also double check all Data & power cables to the drives & MB.

Its the mobo in my specs mate The Asus p8z77-lx.I've just gone back into my rig and double checked all of the sata connections and moved them around and they are now finally showing in computer management,and the boot manager is missing message has gone.The only thing that is still not right,is that only the ocz boot drive is now visible in the bios until I go into advanced mode

That's because that mobo support Sata 3 @ 3gb and Sata 3 @ 6gb...it has 4 @ 3.0 and 2 @ 3.0...
Keep in mind which ports are which and what hard drives you have that use sata 3.0 or sata 6.0.

Yes I no mate,the ssd's are in 2 of the sata 3.0 @ 6gb/s mechanical also then the optical is in a sata 2

Hi there
Lets start at the beginning

1) in the BIOS screen can you see all the HDD's -- NO -- cable not attached properly, device not connected to correct SATA slot type, power not reaching device, device has gone defective.

YES -- does the BIOS show the correct drives on SATA1 / SATA2 / SATA3 etc. -- It's easy especially on a smaller MOBO to mix SATA1 with SATA5 when you have two tightly spaced rows of SATA connectors.

Most MOBOS until you get into the BOOT screen will only allow you to assign automatic boot to SATA1 to SATA4. If your disk is on SATA5 you'll have to enter the boot menu manually each time so just swap the leads.

2) Once you've sorted that out the system should boot just as before. If it doesn't then ensure the disks are in EXACTLY the same SATA slots as they were before. If you still get a boot failure then try the RECOVERY option from Windows 8 recovery media.

3) finally even though it won't boot -- open up the computer again - disconnect all the disks EXCEPT the one that's not showing up and start the boot again. Get into the BIOS to see if the disk is visible. -- If it isn't then it's gone defective (Broken / unclean / greasy pin or whatever). Try cleaning the SATA pins on the disk with some alcohol -- a wee drop of Scotch or Gin is fine if you don't have any cleaning alcohol.

4) if the disk STILL doesn't appear in the BIOS then it's well and truly defective.

5) If it shows up and you can get into Windows (re-connect the Boot drive) and Windows doesn't show it - the disk signature might need to be changed - or go into Disk management where you might see the disk but with no letter assigned. Simply assign it a letter -- and Bingo you'll see it in Windows explorer.

It is booting as normal now, and the drives are visible in computer management, but only the ocz boot drive is visible in the bios.

What BIOS section is the 'ocz boot drive' visible in?
If it's the Boot Device section then it's probably the only OS boot device in your system.
Some of the new EFI BIOS block out other drives.
If you can see/access them in Disk Management and explorer, then it's good.
