Headache inducing internet dropouts

For about a month now I've been dealing with dropouts mostly under heavy load, but also at random times. There are many things I have and have not tried, but roaming around the internet looking for a correction to my issue has been a pain in itself too. I'm not sure what to try first or how to undo accidental mishaps should one happen.

My internet connection is connected straight from my modem into my PC, and my NIC is an Intel 82567V-2 Gigabit Network Connection and diagnostics on my NIC prove that it is working fine. My ISP is Time Warner Cable, and the modem is a Motorola SB5101U SURFboard Cable Modem. OS is Windows 7 x64. When the connection drops, the modem LED's stay lit as if I still had connections. Network troubleshooting says "Cannot obtain a valid IP address" and "Default gateway is not available"

Here is somewhat of a lo-down on whats happened. Early July this started happening from seemingly out of nowhere. Downloading and patching anything were out of question because it would just be a hassle to attempt. Earlier this month I decided to format my drive due to registry issues. After getting my PC setup again, I proceeded to download the SWtOR beta, a download and patch that takes over 8 hours to complete. I was able to do the entire thing without a single disconnect or event log warning. Next morning I was prompted to update Windows with 92 updates, so I began updating my machine. Later that evening while patching Darkspore, was the first time I disconnected again intermittently three times in the duration. And now I have returned to the exact same problem pre-format, even though I am not sure if that even fixed the problem in the first place. I have a suggesting feeling it could be a Windows update, but I am an idiot when it comes to networking.

Here is a list of what I have tried so far, in no particular order: replaced ethernet cable, creating a static IP (got rid of static IP), turned off IPV6, and used DNSJumper, registry edit seen below, reinstalled NIC. New modem. Flush and renew ipconfig. Next on list: new cables and new NIC

Hello,

Do you have the latest driver for your network adapter?
What AV or Security Software do you have installed?

Looks like you might want to consider what you have on your next list since NIC's are very reasonable nowadays.

Next on list: new cables and new NIC

Yes my drivers are up to date and I have tried previous versions as well. I am currently using McAfee total protection for my AV. I will be going out tomorrow for a new network card seeing as the new modem didn't work... it even seems like it has gotten worse

It might be worth removing your McAfee by using this Removal Tool for now, see if that's the culprit.

I'd recommend MSE for protection.

If after removing McAfee yous issue still persist then you may proceed to buy a new NIC.

I just uninstalled McAfee, I will let you know by the end of the night if my troubles are gone.... hopefully they will be!

Un-installing mcafee did not do the job. Also, I have added flush and renew dns to the list of things I tried so far. I had to try to renew 3 times because it couldn't connect to the DHCP server twice.

Yes I have, McAfee wasn't causing any issue. I had the opportunity to bring my pc to a friends house to test it out, and I had a perfect errorless connection for 4 hours straight. I'm going to have to fight with the cable company a bit more since they continue to cancel my service appointments. I appreciate your help! This has been a long, aggravating 3 months
