Solved Help my computer mouse is acting weird!?

my laser mouse automatically lets go of drag and drop items
mess's up my copy and paste sometimes
when i try to bookmark a page to where i want the the bookmark to be located it sometimes just lets go of the bookmark and puts it where i didnt
sometimes its hard to find where it put it R when i go and rename a file and it will copy instead of rename stuff like that but most of the time it dont act up but the times that it does kind of ticks me off
i am scanning my pc with avast! Pro Antivirus,Trojan Remover and windows defender
so far no virus's found

Anyway...it sounds like a mouse button gone bad. It happens.

Do you have another mouse to try and see if the problem persists?

It sounds like your contact switch is faulty inside the mouse. The mouse is sending a "release" signal to the OS even though you still have the button pushed down. I have an old mouse that does something similar to this that I now use for test rigs. (It clicks on a command before I do). I tolerate it there, but it was replaced on my main machine the minute it acted up and couldn't be cleaned.

The mouse buttons are positioned over a plastic extension type connector that is physically moved to push a contact switch on the circuit board at the base of the mouse. If the switch wears out it will lose positive electrical connectivity due to a sloppy fit from wear or physical damage. In that case you replace the mouse.

But sometimes it can be dust buildup inside the mouse that interferes with the operation of the parts. You can take it apart and blow out all the dust bunnies to see if that improves things.

All assumes no human error, of course. Absently releasing pressure without thinking about it.

It is unlikely the behavior would have anything to do with the OS or a virus. This is real simple stuff (mice & mouse actions). It's a 0 if the button is up and a 1 if it is down.

i do have another mouse so i will try that no virus's was detected so it is probably the mouse dang it the other mouse is usb and small
