Help window keeps opening...

After the last automatic upgrade/downlaod I have been experiencing an annoying and extremely frustrating recurring problem. Whenever I use a windows program - esspecially Explorer - a help window automatically opens. I can close it, if I'm lucky, sometimes minimize it, but it will eventually pop up again. I use the task manager to close it but it will eventually return. Sometimes there's no way for me to continue the application because with every keystroke, the help windows opens again. I have no idea what to do short of crashing my systems drive, reformatting and reinstalling Win 7 Pro, 64 bit. This is crazy making...

Have you done a system restore to a time prior to the first occurrence of the issue?

Try rolling back (i.e. uninstalling) your most recent update.

go to: Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Update and in the bottom left you'll see "installed updates" click that and pick your most recent updates and uninstall them. restart your computer and see what happens.

you can also find your installed updates by searching Installed Updates from the start menu.

After several years of supporting users whose appetites couldn't wait for break and/or the Coke & Fritos Crowd, I've developed a knack of looking at the simple sh** first. It certainly made life easier...

I would like to thank those who responded. After reading all the suggestions I followed the KISS principal and tried what PeaB4YouGo suggested - a stickly F1 key. Wouldn't you know it - I haven't had an issue since. THANKS!
