Hi everyone, i've been having major problems with my PC since I upgraded to Windows 7. I hoped that the paid for version (7600) would solve problems, but there are just new issues on this build.

Every so often, i'll randomly get a BSoD pointing to a device driver (Atherxusb.sys) which I know is my USB wireless dongle, which i've tried to update the driver for, but there isn't anything before 2007 around.

Apart from that, the other culprit appears to be ntoskrnl.exe. I've done some looking around online, and tried some of the advice, eg: chkdsk but none of this seems to help.

If anyone could provide some help it would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks!

Edit: attached most recent .dmp file.

Yes, the Jan '07 version of athrxusb.sys is the cause of that particular crash.

I empathise with your situation if there are no driver updates available from that manufacturer, but that simply means that they either can't or won't support their customers on older hardware. CHKDSK and other similar steps won't help - the driver is buggy and the only possible fix involves recoding the driver into a new version with the bug(s) fixed.

Otherwise, consider using a different make/model of wireless NIC.

Also, you can safely ignore the ntoskrnl references. That's literally the guts of the OS itself, and it has a hand in practically every crash imaginable, whether it's the culprit or not. In this case, it's not.

Thanks for taking a look for me, it is an annoying situation to be in. I guess I can revert back to a wired connection for the time being. Thanks again
