This is probably a real lockdown problem / project.
I started to look through old "stuff" - boxes stored away.
I have an old dual CPU PC - MSI K7 Master with 2x Athlon MP 2400 CPU, 4GB Ram. I put a 160 GB IDE HDD in and wanted to install Windows 7.
Most of my installation disks will not boot on the system. Only one XP will start to install.
I used to run Windows 7 32 on it, but cannot remember how the heck I installed it.

The HDD is recognized by the MSI K7. Windows 7 installs o.k. when I connect it to another older system which runs IDE and SATA.

Eventually I got XP and win 7 on different partitions.
I know that the system is only 32bit.
The problem seemed to be that the DVD RW wasa bit picky when it wanted to read a dvd at boot.
When I started the Win 7 32 DVD within XP it rear and ran it without problem.

It is surprising how fast the old xp and win7 still can be.

I am going to be a bit daring and try to install windows 10 on the old MSI K7D soon.
