Hello, everyone

My friend has DSL Internet and ZTE modem ZXDSL831/831 can't remember exactly. Last time i could not connect to the Internet i've ping my gateway "192.168.1.1" and i received Replay with time 600+ ms but when i pinged DNS the ping was O.K
i've tried to restart modem, PC and the problem was solved for that moment, can anyone tell me what can be the main reason of this problem? IP config was static and correct.

Might just be the server you were connecting to was busy. If your connected you have very little control over what your ISP (and the rest of the internet) does.

If you are interested you can check your speed at speedtest.net and tell us what the ping, DL, and UL are.

I have a BT 3G stick, which is made by ZTE. It automatically loads clever software that always selects the best available connection method (regardless of whether you have the 3G stick plugged in). However, when it's running, one ping in four goes out to 1500-1600mS. This is quite enough to make browsing almost impossible. Kill all the processes that start with 'bt...' and the problem disappears. I'm now trying to work out how to still use the 3G stick, without this infernal software...
