Highlight or click on text and it disappears!

When I try to highlight a anything it disappears as I drag the cursor over it, same thing if I double click on a word, click on a link in my favorites file it disappears and turns white. This is happening in IE and Firefox. I have a Dell 1710 Vostro with Windows 7. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

My guess is that its the graphics card or drivers. Check drivers in Device Manager, for yellow warning markers. Go to the website and get most up to date drivers.

I just figured it out in display properties under selected items. The color that was selected was white. Thanks for your help.
