I freaking hate homegroups

So, I originally created a homegroup for our home network on my desktop. Got the password, set up everything fine. One day, I decided to reformat my desktop and reinstall the OS.

Went into homegroup thinking I need to make a new homegroup nad guess what. It says there is already a homegroup existing created by my desktop before the reformat. I don't have the password anymore, so I can't log into the homegroup. i can't delete the homegroup and create a new one. The only option available is joining the existing homegroup which I lack the password for.

Now I'm left with bunch of computers that can't connect to our network printer.

Any ideas?
