Hotmail slowdown under Windows 7

New Dell inspiron, intel core duo, 4mb When doing emails - hotmail, gmail etc - It gets slower and slower and eventually I can't do a thing. Internet explorer also sometimes stops working for no reason.

There are a couple of possibiliites.

Connectivity I suspect you are using homegroup for networking. If so IPv6 can have random efffects on DL's and drops. Ipv6 is only used in homegroup. If you want to change to workgroup you can disable IPv6 and homegrop in networking and sharing


OS

Can you type event viewer in search>go to the windows logs>application tab and look for errors (errors have red in the left hand column) You want to look for errors that have app hang, app crash, of something relevant to the problem.

When you find them and you will note the event ID and source code and let us know what they are
