For a few weeks now, I cannot open any Hotmail e-mails. I can see them fine but can't open nor can I click on junk or deleted with any reaction. I am running a dual boot with Vista and when I access my Hotmail in vista it work fine.

Nothing has changed (no downloads, no new malware).

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

does the problem occur when using a different browser? i assume you're using ie8?

i'm not suggesting it as a permanent 'fix' - just exploring the problem a little further...

try downloading and installing chrome or firefox temporarily, and see if that works.

The problem occurs in both Chrome and IE. When in IE, the mouse has a constant cirlce motion (thinking or hasn't completely loaded the page) between the e-mails and the header.

ok, so it's not the browser.

have you tried temporarily disabling anti-virus and firewall to see if it's that?

Windows Live along with Bing experienced some downtime and probably maintenance at the time you tried using Hotmail. I had the same problem. It should be gone now.

I have not but why would it affect Windows 7 and not Vista the same way. I'm thinking it's got to be something else.

well, i'm just guessing here, and trying to help you to troubleshoot your problem.

for instance, if you tried disabling your firewall, and then found that hotmail suddenly worked, then we are further down the road towards a solution. even if disabling your firewall doesn't help, we can at least eliminate it as a possibility.

you don't have to do it if you don't want to. if you think it's something else, then try something else.
