Solved How can I change my boot animation?

Hi,

I've been looking for a bit around on this website and searching around, but I can't seem to find a solid answer for it: I want to change my boot animation, (this one) with the Windows Vista animation. (Nothing beats Windows 7's one, I just want to change things up!)

Some answers are quite focused on BIOS type and such, I cant seem to find this in msinfo32 as the "BIOS Mode" line is absent. I presume I have UEFI, but I'm not 100% sure. My PC is a DELL inspiron 1545 from 2009, if that's any help.

Just note that you should clone your whole computer to an external drive or at least create a system restore point before you monkey with this. I've done things like this before, but things can happen.

No, this isn't BIOS related, this is the Windows boot screen. When you first boot your computer the first thing that happens is that BIOS loads from the on-board CMOS (Contemporary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) chip from the motherboard, then it hands off to the boot of Windows. What you are wanting to change is the Windows boot screen. Some motherboards allow you to actually change the BIOS boot screen though, and mine allows me to do that.

Oh wow, it's simpler than I thought. I'm not on my Windows 7 PC right now but I'll be sure to do this when I get back!

Update: I'm back on my Dell and I've done the first one, it's nice to know about the fully custom tool, I've tried it and it's great, but I'll be sticking to the first one for now as that's what I wanted. Thanks F22 Simpilot
