How can I fix the bootmgr is missing error?

I accidentally switched my active partition to one without the bootmgr on it, and now I can't start my computer. There's a supervisor password on my BIOS I don't know, prohibiting me from modifying the boot order so I can boot from a USB drive and fix the error. I don't have a CD drive, so that won't work either. Help would be appreciated because I need to be able to use the computer by tomorrow.

Can't you change the boot order while it's booting by pressing F8 as soon as the boot starts, this should allow you to run startup repair.

If this is your computer why don't you know the password?

It's from my school. They were upgrading their computers and gave away their old ones. They didn't think to remove the password and I doubt they'd give it to me.

They don't have to give you the password they can remove the existing one, take it with you and have them remove the BIOS password, easy enough to do and then you'll be set.

Remove the Cmos battery and then reinsert it. That may reset the BIOS. Then you can run Partition Wizard from USB and fix the problem.

I might be able to fix it myself. I have the hard drive connected to another computer. Now how can I change the other partition back to being active? The second computer wants to reformat the whole drive.

Reset the partition which was previously the Partition Marked Active using one of the methods in the blue link.

If this is blocked by the password then have your school IT dept do it for you.
