How can I properly clean inside of hard drive

With major changes affecting me soon (nothing bad, but very cost saving) I want to make sure my computer is in working order with no problems. The major issue is cleaning. I want to make sure any dust inside is out, safely, so my computer still works, but I don't quite know how.

My friend suggested the dust parts from a vacuum, which I did use but my vacuum is in the red. I also have taken a q-tip(s) into each hole, and that kinda helped. I'am very afraid of takign the panels (the caseing) out for this, just so you guys know.

But anyway, any ideas/suggestions?

Can of compressed air. Just blow out the dust. Should take about 2 minutes or less. A majority of dirt will be in the fans and such, as well as the power supply.

No sense in getting it any cleaner than this, as it will just continue to happen.

If your actually talking about cleaning inside your Hard Drive, by means of opening it. Don't do it, you void any warranty and will probably kill it. As pparks1 said, just use canned air to blow out the inside of your case, and blow out all the dust and lint bunnys on your hardware.

That was one of my biggest pet peeves when switching from the tech industry to the non-tech...when people would call their computer the "hard drive" or the monitor "the computer". Anyway, to the OP....the case/tower is what you are likely referring to, and as mentioned compressed air is the best. I take my computer out on my deck once every 6 months or so with my door panels off, and blow all the dust out. Windier the day, the better.

just make sure when you use compressed air on the fans that you can can't hold still with your fingers, that you use a screwdriver or something to keep them from spinning.
Over-spinning the fans will cause bushing failure and the fans will end up making a howling noise.
