The only way I know of so far is to press the "Print Screen" button. The thing though, is that still you have to go and past it into paint or something similar and if you forget and copy some text, well, the image is gone. The other way is to use snipping tool but with that it brings up a window and you have to select a bunch of options which would be no problem, but I'm taking screenshots of an online video game which I have to do quickly or I die permanently. I was wondering if anyone knows of a program or hot key or setting which I could you to quickly just press a button and have it instantly and automatically saved to my photos maybe in a set photo without any screens popping up or anything. I've heard something like this is on Windows 8 but haven't heard anything of it on Windows 7. Thanks in advance for any help!

Install Fraps, it might let you take screenshots of online games, But I`ve never tried that.

Snappy

I've got a program called "Snappy".
Snappy is a simple-to-use tool which allows you to take screenshots in several methods. It can be easily used by individuals of any level of experience.

This software can also be installed as a portable product. In this case, you can place Snappy on a removable drive, plug it into another computer and directly run its executable file. What's more important is the fact that your Windows registry keys will remain intact.

The interface of the application is plain and simple. So, you can either capture the desktop, window, object, selection, fixed area, events or webpage. Plus, you can use a magnifier.

Many games also have this function built in. What game is it?

I've been using a free program called Greenshot. It has lots a good options, such as configuring the "Print Screen" key for instant screen shots without pasting. Simply press the key and you have a screenshot saved.

You are welcome, Dirtsk8r. Greenshot is pretty neat. To configure it for instant screenshots, go to Preferences and set your Hotkeys in the General tab. Then, in the Destination tab, check the "Save directly (using preferred file output settings)" box.
