How can I restore the Uninstall program listing

Yesterday a program told e to download a Java file. I didn't put much attention to it and a lot of bad programs came in and had a big of problem to be able to uninstall them all.
At the end I looked in Control Panel for Uninstall a Program and the whole listing of installed progarms of my laptop were gone. Have been looking around to find a solution to resolve my problem but can't find it. Anyone who can help, please? I did a restore also but I get the message it could not be completed because one program, maybe an antivirus blocks the restore.

It sounds like you may have accidentally installed a virus or other malware. What anti-virus program are you using and have you run a full scan with it? You could also try running some additional scans with these free tools:

Malwarebytes Free

SuperAntispyware Free

ESET Online Scanner Free (The 1 time scan, not the free trial.)

Please post back with the results so the Forum experts can suggest any other steps to take.

I have Avast virus program and had done a quick scan which discovered several virus treaths.
Then I used the prigrams you inidcated and now I have done the ESET program which gave me these results:
- 2x A variant of Java/Exploit CVE-2013-2460.I trojan
- 3x Android/ Exploit.LOTOOR.CU trojan
- 2x Multiple treaths

Now I also used the Avast full scan and this cleaned a lot of junk out my laptop.
All should be cleaned up now but the only problem which didn't change is the -Control Panel/Uninstall a program - where
the whole list of all the installed programs of my computer dissapeared. If I could repair this I would be very happy. Thanks for your help.

The malware may have damaged your system files. Try running a System File Checker scan from an elevated command prompt (Option Two.) If problems are found, run the scan at least 3 times. Reboot your computer immediately following each scan.
