I have two folders with ISO for a Mac computer. One iso is 6.90GB and the other iso is 4.20GB. I have a 16GB flash drive but my pc wont let me transfer them and tell me it wont fit. Strange...

Is there anything I can do to get these two ISO's to my friends Mac? :geek:

should I place both ISO's in a zip file and then place them on the thumb drive and then unzip them on her Mac?

Is your flash drive FAT32?

FAT32 has a file size limit... here's a little info.

You could format your flash drive to NTFS.

thank you very much, I never considered that but I should have. Will Mac have any issues reading my NTFS thumb drive?

I believe that the MacOS doesn't natively read NTFS volumes.

There are utilities to permit a Mac to read NTFS. Some of them may be free. (I haven't used the MacOS since version 7.5.5, so my knowledge is out of date.)

as an alternative, you could use a utility to split the archive into files small enough (< 4GB) to fit on a FAT32 drive, and recombine them on the Mac. I don't know which utility to recommend, though. (I believe that WInZip can split archives.)

A quick google search suggests it doesn't but there are things like this,

NTFS for Mac at Tuxera

this is pretty much a 1 time deal with my friend. I just need to be able to get those ISO's onto her Mac so I can mount and install the software. Is this going to be a super big problem for me?

I honestly have no idea, you can always ask if you do have a problem.

I've never even touched a Mac so I have no help in that regard.

hehe, okay. thank you for the help you were able to give :)

from what I have been reading the new Mac OS should be able to read NTFS but it cant write to it. I hope this means I can transfer the files from the thumb drive to the Mac, i don't really need to put anything from the Mac on the thumb drive. I'll update with results...
