I have recently acquired a Compaq NC6320, the date and time are always wrong, always reverting back to December 1980. I open it up to change the battery, it says on a label that it must have a CR2016, but on the yellow tape the existing battery is in it says CR2032 so not sure which one is correct. So I then remove the outer yellow tape and there are 2 points where the wire has been soldered on each side of the battery. I haven't seen this before, I thought it would be a case of pop the old one out and put in the new one. So would I have to solder the wires onto a new battery, as this isn't what I expected. Any help would be much appreciated.
