Are your Sata drivers something that should come with your hard disk drive, or does it come with your motherboard?

I need to find my sata drivers so that I can splitstream them with my Win XP installation for my dual boot system that I am trying to create.

My hard disk drive is a Western Digital Cavier from Newegg. The hard drive was not shipped to me in a box, and did not come with any drivers or other software.

Here are my hard drive and motherboard models:

Hard drive: WDC WD6400AAKS-65A7B0

Motherboard: Asus P5Q pro

I am trying to make a dual boot system using this tutorial: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/8057-dual-boot-installation-windows-7-xp.html

I already have Windows 7 installed.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Nlite is asking me to browse to the driver, but it's asking for an .inf file. The driver I downloaded here:

ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

Only contains .exe files. The driver also contains 2 folders, an install folder and a Win 7 folder, so I'm confused. Nlite won't even pick up any drivers in any of these folders either. :(

Where do I find the .inf file?

My motherboard is a bit newer than Win Xp. Does this mean that my effort is futile? Should I try to install Win Xp first and then add Win 7 secondly?

Nope, Asus has XP drivers for that board.

Only contains .exe files.
You need the Intel storage driver, not the Marvell one. Once you have downloaded and extracted the Intel driver the INF is located in,

\IMSM_V8901023\IMSM_V8901023\Driver\Disk\f6flpy32 - 32 bit

or

\IMSM_V8901023\IMSM_V8901023\Driver\Disk\f6flpy64 - 64 bit

Should I try to install Win Xp first and then add Win 7 secondly?

Yes. When you can you always install the older first followed by the newer. Another option (some might say better, but only works with separate hard drives) is to install each with the drive for the other disconnected and then use the bios to select which to boot from and avoid having to use the Windows bootloader (and the fun and games it can cause sometimes); on most Asus boards you can also hit F8 while on the POST screen and it will bring up a boot pop up where you select which to boot from without going into the bios.
