hi all,

I want to dual boot windows 7 and windows xp pro. What is happening
is - the OS that was most recently installed is the one that works.
I don't get any choice to choose during boot-up.

I didn't have this problem with the windows 7 RC1. How can I set
this up so I can choose the OS during boot-up?

Thanks!

Tyler

You must have installed XP second? Because when properly installed last on a second partition or drive, Win7 will configure a dual boot automatically - however XP doesn't know how when it is installed second.

The tutorial Jonathan provides above will show you how to get a dual boot menu when XP is installed last.

If Win7 was installed last, then please provide a screen shot of your Disk Management map using the Snipping Tool in your Start menu, attaching it here using the paper clip icon in the reply box.

I installed Windows 7 first, then XP, after which only XP would boot.
Then I did a repair on Windows 7, after which only windows 7 would
boot.

Then I re-installed XP on a partition on the same HD as windows 7,
reformatted the previous drive on which XP was installed, after which
only XP would boot again.

I tried method 2 from that website Jonathan King posted, and installed
that free BCD program. It worked fine!

Thanks you so much everyone!
