I live in Poland i have a TP Link Router/Modem & also TP wireless connection to my computer, i am running windows 7 professional 64bit. My I.P. address is [address removed for your safety] & is Neostrada Plus.

My problem started a couple of days ago where i was unable to connect to the internet even though it showed i had internet, after switching everything off & back on again it worked ok, till i switched it back on today & now i don’t have internet connection where on my router/modem it shows i have, my laptop works fine via the wireless connection but not my computer, i have no idea why this has happened nor how to fix it & i’m not to clever with technical jargon & simplified instructions work best for me :D
Thanks,
Kaz.

Hello Kaz. Sorry to hear you're having these problems. Since it just started a couple of days ago, have you checked with your internet service provider to see if they're having any problems? They might also be able to run a free diagnostic check on your computer, router/modem, etc to see if you need any firmware updates. I'd rule out ISP problems first before making any changes to my computer.

It would help if you filled in your system specs for the machine having the problems. At the top of every Forum page is a "User CP" link. Click on that and then click on "Edit System Spec" in the left column. Fill in as much info as you can.

Have you checked for malware on the computer? Run a full scan with your installed and updated anti-virus suite. Since no anti-malware product is 100% effective 100% of the time (if there was such a thing we'd all be using it) I'd run a couple more free on-demand scanners just in case something slipped by your primary product. The more scans you run that come back "no malware found" the greater the probability that your computer doesn't have any malware. Some recommends scanners are:

Malwarebytes

ESET Online Scanner

HitmanPro

SuperAntispyware

Make sure you uncheck any offered toolbars, browsers etc uness you really want them.

Have you cleaned out any temporary "stuff" that might be interfering with your computer?

Since this issue started only a couple of days ago, have your tried rolling back your computer to a date/time before the problem began?

I don't even know what a User CP is so not sure on what you mean....
I have scanned my computer many times been running it over night but will try the ones you mentoned & see if that will give help...... I also clear out everything every night just before closing down & i don't add toolbars either.....
I did roll back the computer to the time before it went wrong, that worked fine untill i switched the computer off & on again & still has the same problem as before..........

Easier to do this: http://www.sevenforums.com/profile.php?do=extra

just click on link and it will take you to your Details page in the User CP (User Control Panel)

If you have any problems with what hardware you are using, download Speccy - System Information - Free Download

This helps people see what your components are and what hardware problems if any could be going on. Also helps to suggest what drivers to download etc.

Also, what program (and what settings) are you using nightly to clear out your temp data.

As a first test, I would try not clearing out data and shutdown/startup to see if the problem still pops up. could be as simple as your cleaning program clearing away some needed settings...

Malware could certainly affect how your computer works. Since MSE found 3 trojans I think it's even more important that you use run additional scans with other products.
