How do I install Korean language pack

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit on my Dell. I will be living in Korea and studying Korean, so I need the Korean language pack. I've done a little googling, found a tutorial and followed it. Only to discover that particular file only works on Windows 7 Home Premium RTM.

Please help me figure out how to install a Korean language pack on my computer. Is an upgrade the only way?

The language packs are only available for use with Windows 7 Ultimate, no other version.

You can only change languages on the fly with Ultimate.

You can change languages with other Editions:

A couple of ways to do that:

1. You can EITHER integrate the language pack into your install.wim.

Then when you install - you can choose english, or the language you integrated.

2. OR it is probably easier just to download the korean language .iso for the same Edition ( e.g. Home Premium ) that you have a product key for.

You will need to install it tho.

You can find the official .iso files at MDL

If you cannot find the correct Edition, you can easily d/l any edition and change it with this: eicfg_removal_utility.zip

You will have a product key on your machine on a sticker somewhere - possibly under the battery.

SIW2: I will need to be able to toggle back and forth between English and Korean using a keystroke or two. Is that possible with the method you described?

No.

You can only install in one language.

You could have two installations on different partitions - but you still can't toggle- you need to reboot into the other one.

You might consider getting the special upgrade deal for win8 - it is $40 - only for 3mths, starting from October.

Normally, I wouldn't suggest it because win8 is awful on a desktop machine ( it is aimed at tablet users).

The only advantage is that you can change languages on the fly with that - in other respects - win7 is better for desktop users.

I don't know if you can keep languauges switching back and forth in a second or two with win8 - I haven't tried that.
