Solved how do i move the users directory from C: to another drive?

Hi all,

I have a computer with a 60 gb SSD and 1 tb HDD and the users folder is stuck on the ssd. I want to move it to the HDD where there is more room for files. I already tried to to this but it didn't work. I copied the users folder to the HDD and made a link to it on the ssd. But this did not work. If anyone has suggestions please reply.

I think this is what you are looking for for the whole user profile in one go - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/87555-user-profile-change-default-location.html although the is best done on a fresh install as it can effect some programs that are already installed, read Brinks warnings first.

Like mentioned, you can move the entire profile, or you can also just move the selective folders... like documents, music, pictures, etc...

Create the empty folder on your 1TB drive named what you want, documents, music, etc, then go to the current location of the user folder, C:\users\username\folders..... right click on the folder you wish to move, select properties, then select the location tab... from there select move... Then point it to your new folder on the 1TB drive, and click yes when asked to move all files currently in the folders...

I do this for all my user folders...
